Homes in the Jefferson Forest neighbourhood continue to be in high demand, which is clearly supported by the early 2010 sales activity. So far in 2010 we have seen bidding wars by buyers looking to get into the area resulting in sharp price increases. In 2009 the prices ranged from $476,000 to $789,900. A new phase of this development is currently under construction expanding the neighbourhood to the south east of its current borders.
History:
Jefferson Forest is a large wooded area located within the boundaries of the Oak Ridges Moraine. This portion of the moraine was purchased by the Town of Richmond Hill and the York Region government as a collaborative effort to continually protect our local natural resources. Ontario has now designated Jefferson Forest to be an Area of Natural and Scientific Interest which will ensure its preservation for generations to come. A luxurious housing development called Jefferson Forest directly borders the 46-acre woodlands that it was named after. The development is located between Yonge Street and Bayview Avenue and north of 19th Avenue.
